To Get the The management team at Managing General Underwriter WaterColor Management is comprised of the leaders in water industry insurance, claims and risk management. They have developed and underwritten the biggest water treatment book in the United States.
John has worked at U.S., Bermuda and London firms since the 1980s, with a focus on underwriting, broking and claims management. In 2001, John founded Fintra International Ltd, an independent Property & Casualty re/insurance brokerage specializing in self-insured risks, excess liability and captive insurance. He is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and an MBA. In 2012, together with Don Cleveland, he acquired WaterColor Management.
Don began his insurance career in 1979 as President of an Iowa-based Property & Casualty insurance and reinsurance brokerage firm. He came to insurance after 13 years in legislative research and lobbying for local governments, rising to the Presidency of the National Association of County Association Executives. He “fell” into the insurance industry by creating one of the first local government captive insurance programs. At the time, no carrier would write insurances for local governments. Since then, he has served in executive capacities for insurance companies and brokers and was the Director of Risk Management for the largest construction authority in the United States.
Karen joined WaterColor Management in 2010 and manages our staff of underwriters and customer service representatives. She is responsible for underwriting renewals and interacting with hundreds of clients throughout the country. Karen attends industry events, such as the Association of Water Technologies, Water Quality Association and the International Water conferences. Prior to joining WaterColor Management, Karen worked in claims at Travelers and Progressive. She holds several professional certifications including her Property & Casualty insurance license.
After 18 years in the academic profession and running her own small business, Kristn sought a change of careers. She came to work as the Controller at WaterColor Management in July 2016, overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. Kristn earned her Master’s Degree in Accounting in 2013.
